Queen’s Hyperloop Design Team Advances to the Final Competition

For the first time in the team’s history, Queen’s Hyperloop Design Team has been selected as one of only 21 teams to attend the SpaceX Competition and will be only one of three teams representing Canada. On July 21st, 2019, the team will travel to California where they will go head-to-head with top hyperloop teams from around the world.

This highly competitive event will be the fourth competition ever to be held by SpaceX. The first competition took place in January 2017 was the only one of its kind. In this extremely innovative competition, teams will be challenged to build the best high-speed hyperloop pod. All pods will be assessed on maximum speed and successful deceleration. Queen’s Hyperloop Design Team has seen its strongest year yet and is feeling confident heading into the competition. The next few months leading up to the big day will be the busiest time and all members are prepared to work hard and keep the momentum going.
