pod designs

Our Technical Subsystems branch is currently developing our third-generation pod! In the meantime, check out our previous designs below and follow our progress with up-to-date information on Instagram @queenshyperloop!

Generation 3: ? (Preview)

Generation 2: The Yukon

What’s in the package?

Going Carbon Fibre

Made using only carbon fibre and a minimum amount of aluminum, the chassis and aeroshell are strong and lightweight. Aluminum is used only to secure components onto the chassis with bolts, including the aeroshell and cooling loops.

Modular Batteries

The power and control systems were made from only custom and open-source components. Designed to be modular and scalable, the battery systems can be duplicated indefinitely to increase power output.

Winner of the Power Systems Award at CHC 2023.

Motorized Propulsion

Using the largest motors we have ever seen, we made our propulsion wheels spin fast enough to accelerate the pod to nearly 400 km/h. Watercooled using a custom cooling system that allows for cooling agents to be quickly changed on the spot.

Adjustable Guidance

The all-directional suspension system secures the pod firmly onto the test track. The novel adjustment system meant tolerances could be modified easily and without specialized tools.

Winner of the Guidance Award at CHC 2023.

Improved Braking

With new brakes nearly triple the size of our old ones, the braking system included a new tubing system and gas canister. New sensors interfaced with the control system and greatly improved the safety factor of our pod as a whole.
